SAN FRANCISCO (October 1, 2013)Timbuk2, the original San Francisco company, today announced that Cindy Feinauer has joined its leadership team as Director of U.S. Sales.  In her new role, Feinauer is responsible for elevating and executing Timbuk2’s domestic growth strategy.
Feinauer brings more than 15 years of outdoor industry experience and valuable insight to Timbuk2.

She comes to the brand from SmartWool as the Director of U.S. Sales. There, she was instrumental in directing and managing more than $100 million in sales, driving strategic planning and developing and executing a strategic sales approach for outdoor, snow sport, sporting goods, lifestyle, online, footwear, cycling, hunting and fishing, military, and work wear channels. Prior to SmartWool, Feinauer spent seven years at Wolverine World Wide, where she worked in sales and operations roles for Chaco and Merrell.

“We are fortunate to have Cindy join the Timbuk2 family during this exciting time for the company,” said Mike Wallenfels, CEO of Timbuk2.  “As we approach our 25th anniversary in 2014, we’re confident Cindy’s extensive sales experience paired with her passion for success and key relationships in a variety of channels will be instrumental in Timbuk2’s U.S. wholesale growth.”

“Timbuk2 has such a strong brand DNA that not only embraces its uniqueness, but also has appeal to a wide variety of consumers,” said Feinauer.  “There is a culture around the brand that is both palpable and contagious. I am excited to contribute to the company’s continued growth, especially as we enter this exciting milestone.”

Feinauer relocated from the Boulder area to San Francisco for her new role. This is a homecoming of sorts as she lived in Santa Cruz for more than seven years prior to joining SmartWool. She, her partner and two dogs are thrilled to be back near the beach and to explore the city and surroundings on foot and by bike.
