New product: G3 Builds an Empire Series with Empire 115, Empress 115

Empire 115
Vancouver, B.C. , Sep 26, 2013 -
With the huge success of the original Empire, a 127mm underfoot freeride ski, G3 for Fall 2013/14 builds a collection under the Empire name, adding the Empire 115 and women’s specific Empress 115 to the family.  These new skis use a slightly more versatile and more all-mountain profile that’s 115mm underfoot, but retain the construction and camber lines that made the original Empire such a hit. The Empire 115 and Empress 115 are now available at retailers.

G3 Empire 115 -

Designed for hard-charging skiers who demand versatile performance in bounds or in the backcountry, the Empire 115 is a big-mountain incarnation of the award-winning Empire 127 ski, the fattest freeride ski in the G3 line.  The Empire 115 maintains the same G3 PowerRide construction as the original Empire ski, with two sheets of Titanal aluminum, a Fiberglass laminate and Poplar full wood core, making it a powerful and stable ride without any extra weight.  G3’s SweetRise 2 full reverse-camber design gives the 115 ample floatation in soft snow, yet its progressive camber line allows riders to hold a solid edge on firm snow.  Geared for big-mountain freeride skiing, the Empire 115 is light enough to take touring to get the goods, but this freeride beast handles any kind of big line it comes across. (145/115/126; 4.5 lbs. per ski in 175).  $779.95.

Empress 115
G3 Empress 115 -

G3’s most aggressive women’s ski to date, the Empress 115 is designed with big mountain female skiers in mind.  G3’s PowerRide construction, two sheets of Titanal aluminum sandwiching a Poplar wood core, make the Empress a stable ride at high speeds on steep slopes without adding any unnecessary weight.  G3’s SweetRise 2 full reverse-camber design and a tapered tip and tail make the Empress floaty and fun, yet its progressive camber line allows female riders to hold a solid edge on firm snow.  Available in shorter lengths with fine-tuned camber for women’s sizes and weights, the Empress is light enough to tour the backcountry tour and beefy enough to rip big lines in bounds. (145/115/126; 4.2 lbs. per ski in 165).  $639.95.
